O Visual Organizer (Stage Manager) allows you to manage the different applications open on your Mac and iPad in an even easier and more intuitive way. It was released alongside macOS Ventura 13 and iPadOS 16 in late 2022.
Even though it’s an excellent feature for users of these two devices, things don’t always work as they should. Thinking precisely regarding this scenario, we have put together some tips on what to do if you are facing a problem.
Let’s go? ????
- Firstly, it’s a good idea to make sure that your device is fully compatible with the function.
- I don’t match two Macs, Most computers released from 2017/18 are compatible.
- On the iPad, it is possible to use it fully on the iPad Air (5th generation or newer), 11″ and 12.9″ iPads Pro (3rd generation and later). To move windows on an external monitor, you will at least need an iPad Air (5th generation), an 11″ iPad Pro (3rd generation) or a 12.9″ iPad Pro (5th generation).
- Make sure it is not disabled by default.
- On your Mac, open System Settings, click on “Desk & Dock” and make sure “Visual Organizer” is turned on.
- On iPad, open Settings, tap “Multitasking & Gestures” and see if “Visual Organizer” is turned on. You can also do this by opening Control Center and tapping the feature icon.
- For the Visual Organizer to work on a Mac, the “Screens have separate spaces” function must be activated. Otherwise, you will not be able to turn on the feature. To do this, go back to the Mac settings, in the “Desk and Dock” area, and activate the last option at the bottom of the screen.
- Keep your Mac or iPad software updated to the latest version available.
- Restart the device and see if this resolves any issues you are having with it.
