About a month following the last update, Apple released another version of the firmware for Third generation AirPods: a 6A321
; the old one, it is worth remembering, was the 6A317
.
According to Apple, the update only brings “bug fixes and other improvements” to your wireless headphones. At the time of publication of this article, the Portuguese edition The firmware release notes page had not yet been updated.
As always, there is no direct way to manually update the AirPods’ firmware; just use them normally and the update will be done automatically the moment they are connected to the iPhone or iPad.
One way to “force” the update, however, is to put your smartphone/tablet on charge and then start using the headphones. After a while, the new version should have been installed.
To check the firmware version running on your headphones, you must necessarily have them connected to an iPhone or iPad. Once that’s done, just go to Settings and tap the AirPods area that is highlighted right at the beginning of the screen, below your Apple ID information — or by going to Settings » General » About » AirPods.
