Washington’s Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin had a full training session on Wednesday and is preparing to play once morest St. Louis in the NHL regular season match, The Hockey News reports.
Ovechkin, 38, missed three Capitals games in a row due to injury. Washington’s next game is at home once morest St. Louis on Thursday.
Ovechkin, who suffered a “lower body” injury, reportedly took part in the Capitals’ full on-ice practice on Wednesday.
“Ovechkin took part in a full training session, tomorrow we will find out whether he can take part in the upcoming match,” said Washington head coach Spencer Carbery, as quoted by The Hockey News.
Ovechkin played 39 regular-season matches this season, scored eight goals and gave 19 assists. The Russian ranks second on the list of top scorers in league history with 830 goals, 64 behind Canadian Wayne Gretzky (894).
