Tania D’Amelio Cardiet was elected as the second vice president of the entity.
Judge Caryslia Rodríguez was appointed this Wednesday as the new president of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), following a meeting of the full court.
Through a press release from the country’s main court, his appointment was reported, and that it was in accordance with the provisions of articles 19 and 20 of the Organic Law of the Supreme Court of Justice.
In addition, Judge Tania D’Amelio Cardiet was elected as second vice president of the highest court and president of the Constitutional Chamber, while the president of the Social Cassation Chamber, Judge Edgar Gavidia Rodríguez, was ratified as first vice president of the high court.
Caryslia Beatriz Rodríguez Rodríguez guaranteed that with “unity along with the probity and example of performance bequeathed by the Liberator Simón Bolívar, the judicial power will continue to advance in this new period.”
“All of us, together, are going to achieve great victories as required by this stellar moment in the country’s history,” he stated.
He invited the magistrates of the chambers to continue working as a team.
During the Plenary Chamber meeting, the new President of the high court, Judge Rodríguez Rodríguez swore in Judge Edgar Gavidia Rodríguez as first vice president and Judge Tania D’Amelio Cardiet as second vice president of the TSJ.
Then he swore in the rest of the presidents of the chambers of the highest court: Judge Malaquías Gil Rodríguez, in the Political-Administrative Chamber; Judge Elsa Janeth Gómez Moreno, in the Criminal Cassation Chamber and Judge Henry José Timaure Tapia, in the Civil Cassation Chamber.
Likewise, the new President of the TSJ took the oath to the second vice presidents of all the chambers that make up the high court: Judge Lourdes Benicia Suárez Anderson, in the Constitutional Chamber; Judge Bárbara Gabriela César Siero in the Political-Administrative Chamber; Judge Fanny Beatriz Márquez Cordero in the Electoral Chamber; Judge José Luis Gutiérrez Parra, in the Civil Cassation Chamber; Judge Carmen Marisela Castro Gil, in the Criminal Cassation Chamber and Judge Carlos Alexis Castillo, in the Social Cassation Chamber.
They were ratified by the Plenary Chamber, the secretary of the chamber, John Parody and the sheriff of this instance, Renny Pérez.
