One dead and three injured is the result of a road accident that occurred today, Sunday, on national road 230, in the Cangambo neighborhood, in this city. The accident occurred when a Catholic church vehicle, made by Land Cruizer, crashed and overturned with four occupants, returning from a religious mission in the municipality of Cangandala, according to Angop.
The deceased, Jorge Luis Rodriguez Baqueiro, who was driving the vehicle, was a priest from the Catholic mission in the commune of Lombe, municipality of Cacuso, while two mothers and a priest are injured receiving care at the Malanje General Hospital.
According to the head of Traffic and Road Safety in Malanje, Bilson Santos, he pointed to the slippery pavement due to the rain as being at the root of what happened. The clinical director of the Malanje General Hospital, Ana Ventura, stated that one of the mothers is in a serious condition, requiring surgical intervention due to a fractured femur. The accident is the first to occur this year, causing fatalities.
