Angolan international referee Jerson Emiliano dos Santos will mark his sixth appearance in a final phase of the African Cup of Nations in football (CAN). Along with Ivanildo Lopes, another Angolan assistant, they are part of the list of 64 judges selected by CAF for the 34th edition of this biggest summit in continental football, to be held from January 13th to February 11th, in Côte d’Ivoire. Jerson dos Santos has been part of the refereeing teams at the Angolan Football Federation (FAF) since 2004.
He rose to the international category in 2009, in which he has participated in 458 games, including CAN’Su-17, Under 23, honors, CHAN, COSAFA and at club level.
In turn, Ivanildo Lopes, another member of the Angolan duo selected by CAF, will make his debut in a final phase of the continent’s main football competition.
He has already been involved in two continental competitions, namely CHAN’2022, in Algeria, an African competition reserved for players who play in their respective countries, and in the Southern Region Cup (COSAFA’2020), played in the city of Port Elizabeth, in South Africa .
