The expansion of internet access in our country has also boosted the growth of online commerce, according to a survey published by Offerwise e a association IAB Brasil, which seeks the sustainable development of digital .
According to the survey, 85% of Brazilians with internet access have already made some purchase online. Of this total, 64% said they had purchased a product or service less than a month ago, demonstrating the consolidation of this habit in the country.
Another fact highlighted by the survey is that 48% of respondents say they make more purchases online than in physical stores, while 28% buy both online and offline. Smartphones are the most used to buy online, with 89% of responses.
Among those who have not yet made purchases online, 32% said they would not do so because they did not have any payment method available, while 31% were not interested and another 22% did not fully trust the internet to carry out similar transactions.
When it comes to researching before finalizing a purchase, 99% of users say they compare prices before making a purchase, whether on retail websites, online search engines, product review sites, social networks and other means.
The impact of advertisements on purchasing decisions was also measured by the research. 56% of respondents said they research products further for additional information following seeing regarding the item.

In turn, 49% responded that they look for some reviews and opinions from other consumers regarding the product of interest. Furthermore, 82% said they had already purchased a product or service following seeing an advertisement on the internet.
What catches people’s attention the most in ads are free shipping (71%) and promotions (70%). In the same sense, those that most influence consumers’ purchasing decisions are price (85%) and shipping (80%), as shown in the survey.
