Siemens Courses: SITRAIN and Power Academy leverage learning in the areas of Industry and Energy
At the beginning of the year, many set personal and professional development goals. To leverage the learning of customers, students and those interested in Industry and Energy topics, Siemens promotes face-to-face and distance learning courses with the aim of training these audiences on the best use of the company’s solutions and products. At its headquarters in São Paulo, in Anhanguera, there is CITRAIN; at the Jundiaí plant, the Power Academypresent in 15 countries where the company operates.
The objective is to train customers, students and interested parties on Siemens market trends and technologies
The objective of the two institutions is similar and academic, that is, to train people. For production processes, with an industry’s production line that has Siemens equipment or systems, such as SIMATIC S7, WinCC, SCALANCE, SINAMICS, PCS7 and SINUMERIK, the courses are taught at SITRAIN. At Power Academy, the focus is on the energy sector, on the generation, transmission and distribution segments with a focus on the digitalization of substations, whether in cities or companies. The main solutions are the Siprotec 5 and Reyrolle protection relays, in addition to the SICAM A8000 line communication remotes on customer panels.
SITRAIN partnerships with UNISINOS, in São Leopoldo, and Senai de Pindamonhangaba expand the spectrum of reach of the SITRAIN courses
In 2023, Siemens trained around 2,400 participants in SITRAIN and Power Academy to use the company’s solutions.
As a market leader in automation, Siemens is present in the chemical, pharmaceutical, automotive, mining, paper and cellulose industries, among many others. The demand for knowledge increases more and more, in a fast-paced world full of updates.
Certificates of completion increase the employability of participants.
In addition to face-to-face courses at SITRAIN, Siemens is expanding its reach, as it recently entered into a partnership with UNISINOS (University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos), campus in São Leopoldo, in Rio Grande do Sul, and with SENAI in Pindamonhangaba. “In 2023, 1,900 participants graduated from 190 training courses and we want to further increase this number in 2024, through the dissemination of knowledge in Siemens technologies and access to SITRAIN with new partnerships with educational institutions”, says Bruno Doimo, coordinator of SITRAIN.
At the Power Academy, opened a year ago in Brazil, there were four training sessions per month with ten students each, totaling 480 people. The study model is flexible: it is possible to carry out training at the Siemens factory in Jundiaí (with different customers who use similar solutions) or at the customer’s plant, with at least six participants.
Dissemination of knowledge
“For every solution we launch, we need to empower our customers. And Siemens’ mission is to disseminate knowledge regarding the technology we use, always in an innovative way. There is a social side to collaborating with the employability of those who take the courses, as our certificate is worth a lot in the market. Learning directly from the manufacturer is a huge validation”, says Diego Petrowski, responsible for the Power Academy at Siemens.
During the months of January, February and March, some SITRAIN courses will have 15% discounts, depending on the number of places contracted. More information can be found on each area’s website.
