Motorola announces Moto G Play 2024 with Snapdragon 680 and 90 Hz screen

The Moto G Play 2024 was officially announced by the company this Tuesday (16). Initially, the model arrives on the United States market and should occupy the entry-level segment in Motorola’s portfolio, following the same line as the last two generations of the device. Still, it brings some upgrades.

Compared to its predecessor, presented at the end of 2022, it comes with the same refresh rate support on the screen, which also has the same size: it is 6.5 inches with a resolution of 1,600 x 720 and support for 90 Hz. It is also worth highlighting the 500 nits brightness of the device’s panel.

Inside, we have one of the changes: Motorola left the MediaTek Helio G37 to implement a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 in its new basic model. The set also has 4GB of RAM (expandable up to 6GB) and 64GB of internal storage, both items superior to the 2023 version.

In terms of photography, the new Moto G Play has a 50MP main sensor, accompanied by a flash, while the selfie lens comes with 8MP. Furthermore, the battery has a capacity of 5,000mAh and it is possible to use a charger of up to 18W with the product. Furthermore, it comes with IP52 certification for protection once morest water and dust.

For now, the device will be available in the US and Canada and can be purchased for US$ 149,99, which is equivalent to R$738 in direct conversion at the current price. Interested parties will be able to purchase the device from the day January 26th (Canada) and February 8 (USA).

The Motorola Moto G Play 2024 is not yet available in Brazilian stores. To be notified when it arrives.
