On May 17, 2023, traffic in Vienna was particularly bad. A driver in the city needed a total of 26 minutes and 50 seconds to cover a distance of ten kilometers. This emerges from the current traffic index from Tomtom, a company known for its navigation systems. Figures from Vienna were not the only ones collected for this index. Data from over 600 million navigation systems in vehicles and smartphones in 387 cities in 55 countries on six continents were evaluated. This resulted in a global ranking of the cities that suffer most from traffic jams.
