A predicted rendering of the Golf GTI facelift (F/L) being developed by Volkswagen has emerged.

The Golf GTI F/L rendering released by overseas automobile media outlet Kolesa shows an aggressive, sporty, and colorful appearance with alloy wheels.

Previously, the Golf GTI F/L was spotted several times in prototype form late last year. The prototype recently captured by the foreign news outlet ‘Auto Evolution’ has minimal camouflage, so you can see what new features have been updated.

To differentiate the new car from the existing model, several important changes were made, including redesigned lighting and a new bumper.

Autoevolution predicted that new software will be installed in the same infotainment system and digital gauge cluster as the new Tiguan and Passat with 15-inch displays. Additionally, it is predicted that the center console will be changed and a new steering wheel, improved interior, and new trim will be added.

The powertrain is likely to be equipped with the same turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine as before, producing a maximum output of 241 horsepower and 37.7 kg.m of torque. Transmission options include manual and automatic.

The Golf GTI Mk8.5 in the spy shot has almost all of its camouflage removed, but the actual mass-produced model may have slightly different front and back sides.

The media predicted that the design of the headlamp and graphics on the lower part would be different from the new car. In addition, the lower part of the front bumper was simplified, and the tail light pattern was also assumed to be different from the actual one. The rear is much less aggressive in style, so the wings are likely to be missing.

Overall, the changes to the Golf GTI F/L are unlikely to be significant. The new car is scheduled to be released in the first half of this year.
