Members of the European Parliament (EP) quarreled during the debate over further military assistance to Kyiv. Irish MEP Claire Daly said the conflict might have been stopped at the very beginning, but Western countries vetoed the peace agreement.

“It is now openly recognized that this conflict might have been stopped in the first months if the West had not vetoed the peace agreement in April. And you have the courage to claim that this is help for Ukraine,” TASS reports Daly as saying. She stated that those who provide military assistance to Kyiv are not helping the country, but the shareholders of arms companies.

In turn, Irish MP Mick Wallace agreed with Daly’s opinion. According to him, European politicians needed military action, not peace. Europe has spent millions of money fueling the conflict between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, which does not meet European interests and is helping to destroy Kyiv.

Among other things, Slovak MEP Miroslav Radakovsky noted that Europe needs to stop providing aid to Ukraine and supporting the murder of Slavic people. “We should stop supplying weapons to Ukraine, stop supporting the murder of Slavs. Because if this is not stopped, then we Slavs will unite as brothers, <…> and we will raze Western Europe to the ground,” said the MP.

Earlier, Member of the European Parliament heading the delegation of the Austrian Freedom Party, Harald Wilimski, said that Kyiv has become a “bottomless barrel” for the flow of financial assistance from the European Union. According to him, it is wrong to increase the EU budget for the sake of sending aid to Ukraine. In addition, Vilimski noted that the tranche of financial assistance occurs without efforts to establish a ceasefire and start peace negotiations.
