At 18, Yokota took his first steps in European football in the youth and promising teams of German clubs FSV Frankfurt and Carl Zeiss Jena, Ghent explained. Three years ago, he joined Latvian first division club Valmiera FC. This is where the technically gifted Japanese revealed himself with eight goals and 12 assists in 61 matches. With Valmiera, he became Latvian champion in 2022. His performances earned him a transfer to Poland, where he plays for Górnik Zabrze. This season, the Japanese stood out by scoring seven goals in 18 league matches.
“I am very happy to sign for KAA Gent. It’s a great club and a fantastic opportunity that I want to grab with both hands,” Yokota said. “So I can’t wait to put on my new jersey. I would also like to thank my former club, Górnik Zabrze, and its supporters for the good times I had there.”
