A 27-year-old man from Toulouse who had just robbed a supermarket at gunpoint was apparently caught last week while he was enjoying his small loot… in a bar near the scene.
Around 2 p.m. last Monday, French police were called to an organic store in Toulouse, in the south of the country, following an individual tried to steal from the establishment’s cash register, according to reports The Dispatch mardi.
Except that following being chased away by a saleswoman, the man in question allegedly attempted his crime once more, two hours later, by brandishing a knife in a large local distribution store.
This time, he managed to get his hands on rolls of money totaling 120 euros, or more than $175 Canadian, according to the French media.
Bad luck, the 27-year-old individual, who would be a regular in the neighborhood, would have been recognized during his crimes, so much so that the establishments would have provided a fairly detailed description to the police.
But they did not have to go very far to handcuff him: the man was reportedly spotted shortly following 6 p.m. while he was taking advantage of his loot to buy beers at the local bar.
According to The Dispatch, he allegedly admitted his crimes following being taken into custody.
