Samsung One UI 6.0 leaves some Galaxy phones with a yellow screen; see how to solve

Samsung has been rolling out the update with One UI 6.0 and Android 14 to a number of smartphones, but some units have been facing a problem that leaves the screen yellow.

The bug was noticed by several users and shared on social networks, and it always happens at night. Therefore, we can say that the problem is not with the hardware, but with Samsung’s software.

This is because it is possible to get around the problem by changing the clock time to some time of the day.

The most accepted hypothesis at the moment is that there is a conflict between Android 14’s “Night Light” feature and Samsung’s own “Eye Comfort Shield”.

A way to solve the problem was published on YouTube and involves installing Nova Launcher. You can watch the step by step below.

To resolve the bug, follow the steps below:

  1. Install the Nova Launcher app
  2. Configure it to be the default home app by going to “Settings > Default apps > Home > New”
  3. Go back to the home screen, press on any empty area and choose the Nova Launcher “Activity” widget. Place on home screen
  4. The Widget will automatically open the “Activity” screen and you must choose the “Settings” option and tap on it
  5. Scroll until you find the “Night Light” option
  6. The icon must be added to the home screen
  7. Tap the icon and disable the option to use night light
  8. Finally, set it so that the feature is never activated automatically

This small step by step should temporarily resolve the problem until Samsung releases an update with the fix for the flaw. The company said it was aware of the bug and stressed that it will resolve it, but there is still no forecast for the update to be released.
