Montreal Canadiens prospect Filip Mesar took matters into his own hands to lead the Kitchener Rangers to a 4-2 victory Sunday over the Ottawa 67’s in the OHL.
The striker finished the game with two goals scored in the third period so his team might go away with the two points.
The Rangers took control of the match 2 to 0, but the 67’s leveled the score in less than five minutes during the third period. Brady Stonehouse and Samuel Mayer each found the back of the net to make it 2-2.
The 26th overall pick in the 2022 draft then got going. Mesar broke the tie with his 14th goal of the campaign with just over five minutes left in the period. He completed the score in an empty net.
This season, Mesar has 15 goals and 20 assists in 22 games.
