The money comes from donations from the many visitors, some of whom come from far away. “This year we had guests out New Zealandwhom we were able to welcome nine years ago,” says a delighted person Sabine Gollnhuber.

Even if she hasn’t settled last winter yet, there are already over 20,000 euros went to charitable institutions.

A lot of hard work

The family is supported by many volunteers and sponsors. “It is not a given that we constantly have helpers in the company from Friday to Sunday. For me they belong almost family“, says Gollnhuber, thanking all the helpers. Even following the season there is a lot of work on the site, because then all the figures have to be dismantled, washed and neatly stowed away.

Each lighting is tested once more for its function and the figures go to summer sleep in plastic bags. “You wouldn’t believe what backbreaking work it is,” says the landlady.

While SpongeBob SquarePants, Micky Maus and the Grinch Standing in the garden every evening, Sabine Gollnhuber was able to fulfill a private dream on December 20th. The pop stars from the The nobility came unexpectedly to their home garden following a performance in Birkfeld: “That was my highlight, I still draw from it today.”

Only the snow is not welcome

Who isn’t really welcome is the snow. Wait, a Christmas house also needs a few snowflakes, right?

“A lot of snow is the worst thing that can happen for us. We can then only clear it out of the garden with the snow shovel. Many figures are not made for that,” explains Gollnhuber.

After the season is before the season.
