“During the last day, Israeli troops continued operating in Khan Younis, where nine terrorists were killed in joint activities by air and ground forces throughout the city,” said a military statement on the situation in that city, a Hamas stronghold in the south. and where its leader, Yahya Sinwar, is believed to be hiding.

Also in Khan Younis, Israeli aviation shot down two other “armed terrorists”; while the tanks of the ground forces killed five other militiamen in another part of the city near an underground well in the city.

In the Maghazi area, in the center of the enclave, the troops identified two armed men advancing towards them, and they were neutralized by Israeli aircraft before they might attack the soldiers, the Army reported.

In the Atatra neighborhood of Maghazi, troops located and destroyed several rocket launchers, from which numerous projectiles were fired towards Israel.

The Israeli Army reported the death of First Sergeant Andualem Kabada, 21, in the fighting in southern Gaza, bringing the casualties in its ranks since the start of the ground offensive to 188, in addition to the 337 soldiers who died during the Hamas attack on Israeli soil on October 7.

The IDF also claimed this Sunday to have confronted a “squad” from Lebanon, killing four “terrorists.”

“Tonight, an IDF force patrolling the area of ​​Mount Dov encountered a squad of terrorists who had crossed from Lebanese territory into the territory of the State of Israel,” the Israeli Army reported in a post on the social network , formerly known as Twitter.

In the same statement, the IDF explained that, “during an exchange of fire, they eliminated four terrorists” and specified that Israeli troops used “artillery and mortars in the area” in the confrontation.

The Israeli offensive inside the Strip has claimed the lives of at least 23,800 Gazans – more than 70% civilians – and left 60,300 injured, in addition to more than 7,000 bodies estimated to be trapped under the rubble.
