Mercedes-Benz Rapidly Expanding in China: 765,000 Vehicles Delivered in 2021

BEIJING, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) — German automaker Mercedes-Benz delivered regarding 765,000 vehicles to consumers in China last year, with annual deliveries of pure electric models more than doubling, the company said in a statement.

The company’s high-end luxury product matrix maintained rapid growth, as Mercedes-Maybach and G-Class vehicles grew 21% and 22% year-on-year, respectively.

To enhance Chinese consumers’ e-mobility experience, Mercedes-Benz charging stations have been put into operation in the cities of Chengdu, Foshan, Qingdao, Chongqing, Kunming, Wuhan, Suzhou and Changzhou. Its public charging service now covers around 590,000 public charging stations in more than 340 cities across China.

According to Oliver Britz, executive vice president of sales of Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales Services Co., Ltd., Mercedes-Benz will offer more than 15 new models to Chinese consumers this year, covering multiple driving modes and various product matrices. .

The company’s local research and development network currently covers Beijing and Shanghai, with 2,000 professionals in the research and development team. END
