The mayor of Neuquén, Mariano Gaido, held a meeting with more than 40 representatives of clubs in the city. The president committed to providing support to sports, social and community institutions, mainly in the face of the uncertainty posed by the Urgent Necessity Decree ordered by President Javier Milei and which enables clubs to be converted into public limited companies.
During the meeting, the community leader proposed building a joint agenda to analyze possible efforts that provide alternatives to the capital clubs. Among the main topics: the electricity rate and the infrastructure of the institutions. For their part, the presidents of the clubs committed to marking the needs by priority, organizing into specific commissions to work the rest of the year.
Gaido anticipated that he will discuss in person the energy cost that the clubs have before the CALF electricity cooperative.something that will be advanced next Monday with another meeting.

«We are clear that we are not going to have the support of the national government but we are an example State, we have no debts. The communal chief was accompanied by the Secretary of Strategic Linkage, Mauricio Serenelli, commented that he highlighted the formation of a working group to start working from January. He also recalled the investment that the city made to the sector during 2023, contributing more than 1,500 million pesos to the clubs.
““Of every 10 pesos that the secretariat has, 7 go to community clubs and the rest go to other sports institutions,” Serenielli marked and confirmed that the search for sponsors from the private sector linked to fruit, energy, oil and the business sector is being managed.
After the meeting, the president of the «A Different Day Association», Ariel Aila, classified the meeting as “barbaric” and highlighted how “It is very important to know that the mayor did not run and is in charge.”

The leader described an adverse situation inside the clubs, being forced to close the staff of professionals who addressed the issue of addictions aimed at boys and girls in the western neighborhoodsas well as the dining room, due to lack of funds. Aila recalled that only the association she represents, more than a thousand people ranging from 6 to 34 years old attend sports activities.
