A 16-year-old German holidaymaker was found dead during a search operation in Innichen in South Tyrol’s Puster Valley on Friday. This was reported by South Tyrolean media. The young person is said to have left the family’s holiday accommodation for a walk in the morning and never returned. Finally, she was found by a dog from the mountain rescue service’s dog team on the Innichberg below a forest path in rough terrain, it was said.
More history:
Attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful. An emergency doctor might only determine that the girl was dead. The exact cause of death was initially unclear. An autopsy was ordered by the Bolzano public prosecutor’s office. According to information that has not yet been confirmed, the 16-year-old may have slipped and fallen on the icy path. It was also unclear whether the young German froze to death.
In addition to mountain rescue, the police, the local volunteer fire department and the financial guard with a helicopter were involved in the large-scale search operation.
