The New Year float parade resumes with 29 performance teams including Japan’s popular female dance troupe
The New Year’s Day Float Parade has been held once more since 2019. The HKTB stated that there will be 9 floats participating, most with the theme of “dragon” and combined with New Year greeting elements.
Participating units include Cathay Pacific Airways, Disneyland and Ocean Park. There are a total of 29 performing teams, 16 of which are international performing teams, the most in history, coming from 12 countries or regions, including the popular Japanese female dance group Avantgardey, which recently appeared in the “Japan Red and White Singing Contest”.
The performance started at 8 o’clock that night. The parade set off from the Cultural Center Square and traveled along Canton Road, Haiphong Road and Nathan Road, ending outside the Sheraton Hotel. There are auditoriums at the Cultural Centre, Canton Road and Nathan Road. Tickets are NT$300, NT$450 and NT$480 respectively, with half price for Hong Kong residents aged 65 or above and children aged 3 to 11 years old. It will be on sale at the HKTB Kowloon Visitor Information Center at the Star Ferry Pier in Tsim Sha Tsui from 8am on the 27th of this month. The event has a budget of NT$38 million and can attract 150,000 tourists.
