Bandar Seri Begawan (Brunei): One of the biggest lavish weddings in the world is just days away. Brunei’s crown prince and polo star Prince Abdul Mateen will get married on Thursday. Mateen is one of the most wanted bachelors in Asia. The wedding ceremony lasts for 10 days. The 32-year-old prince and 29-year-old Yang Mulia Anisha Rosna will marry according to Islamic rites at the gold-domed mosque in the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan.

Mateen is the tenth son of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. The bride, Yang Mulia Anisha, is the granddaughter of one of her father’s key advisors. She owns a fashion brand and co-owns a tourism firm. The celebrations started from Sunday. The celebration began at the 1,788-room palace. Dignitaries of the country and abroad will attend the wedding.

Brunei is one of the richest countries in the country. The media reported that the celebration will be held in such a way that the luxury of the country will be highlighted. Brunei’s main source of wealth is oil. Strict Islamic laws prevail in the country. The population is only 4.5 lakh.

Mateen may never be king, but he is a superstar on social media. A helicopter pilot in the country’s air force, he was compared to Britain’s Prince Harry by the media. Mateen graduated as an officer cadet from Britain’s Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and represented his country in polo at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. The prince accompanied his father to the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla in May last year and to the funeral of Queen Elizabeth in 2022.
