A V2 version of the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller has been listed at a retailer, indicating that the joystick is likely to be re-released with some improvements.

According to a Walmart Canada listing, the new controller will come with a DualSense charging station and “exceptional” battery life of up to 12 hours, allowing for long gaming sessions.

The Walmart Canada page shows that the DualSense V2 controller will come with the same price as its predecessor, in addition to the same dimensions. Visually, it appears to have the same design as the current version, probably only with changes to the internal hardware.

If the information is correct, the new control would have considerable improvements compared to its original, which includes a 1,560 mAh battery unit and has an autonomy of around six hours in more demanding games with all DualSense features activated.

Sony also launched the DualSense Edge in December 2022 with several advanced features. Aimed at professional players, it features quality construction, great integration with the software and many customization options.

However, the joystick has a smaller battery than the original, something that was heavily criticized by users, especially taking into account the price.

So far, the Japanese company has not commented on this supposed V2 version of the DualSense. More information should be released in the coming weeks.
