The World Health Organization canceled another medical aid mission to the Gaza Strip that was scheduled for Wednesday due to security concerns.

Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said that the canceled mission is the sixth mission to northern Gaza that the organization has canceled, due to the failure to approve visit requests, in addition to the failure to provide security assurances since the last visit on December 26.

Ghebreyesus said – in an online press conference from Geneva – that “the intense bombing, movement restrictions, fuel shortages, and communications blackouts make it impossible for the World Health Organization and our partners to reach those in need… We call on Israel to approve the requests of the World Health Organization and other partners to provide humanitarian aid.” .

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced today, Wednesday, that the death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Strip, which has continued since October 7, has risen to 23,357 martyrs, and the number of injured to 59,410.

She pointed out that this statistic includes those who arrived at hospitals, at a time when other victims are still under rubble and on the roads, without ambulance and civil defense crews being able to reach them.

Since October 7, the Israeli occupation forces have launched a bloody aggression once morest Gaza, in which they invaded civilians and their homes, destroyed large areas of the Strip, and displaced 90% of its population.
