Cyprien Sarrazin with the best time in the 2nd downhill training in Wengen

The second Lauberhorn downhill training in Wengen on Wednesday was all regarding tomorrow’s replacement downhill run from Beaver Creek (start time: 12.30 p.m.). The training session was carried out on a shortened route of 2,950 meters instead of the traditional length of 4,270 meters. While Marco Odermatt achieved the fastest training time on Tuesday in 2:30.86 minutes, was the fastest of the day on Wednesday, Bormio downhill winner Cyprien Sarrazin in 1:45.87 minutes. The Frenchman showed a courageous drive and relegated the Swiss Justin Murisier (+ 0.35) and Mattia Casse (+0.41) from Italy took second and third place.

Behind Nils Allegre (4th – + 0.71) from France and the American Ryan Cochran-Siegle (5th – + 0.77) lined up Andreas Sander (+ 0.96) as the best DSV racer in sixth place. Places seven and eight were there Niels Hintermann (+ 1.03) and Stephen Rogentin (+ 1.07) firmly in Swiss hands. Saslong winner Bryce Bennett (+ 1.08) from the USA and the Canadian Cameron Alexander (+ 1.14) finished the second downhill training in ninth and tenth place.

The Austrian finished eleventh Daniel Hemetsberger (+ 1.16), closely followed by the Frenchman Maxence Muzaton (+ 1.17) in twelfth place. Stefan Babinskyalso from Austria, secured thirteenth place (+1.25), while the American Jared Goldberg (+ 1.27) reached fourteenth place. The Italian Dominik Paris (+ 1.36) landed in fifteenth position.

The other places were: Marco Odermatt from Switzerland and Daniel Danklmaier from Austria, both in sixteenth place at the same time (+ 1.40), as well as the Frenchman Adrien Theaux (+ 1.45) in seventeenth place. The Canadian James Crawford (+ 1.63) took nineteenth place, closely followed by the Frenchman Alexis Pinturault (+ 1.64), which took twentieth place.

The Slovenians found themselves further back in the field Martin Cater (+ 1.69) in twenty-first place, the Swiss Gilles Roulin and the Austrian Otmar Striedinger, both in twenty-second place at the same time (+ 1.74). The Italian Florian Schieder and the German Romed Baumann shared twenty-fourth place (+1.76).
