3,942 new companies were created at the end of October 2023 in the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, according to the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC).
These companies are distributed between legal entities (1,729) and individuals (2,213), indicates the OMPIC general dashboard.
Thus, the province of Laâyoune saw the creation of 3,685 new companies, followed by the province of Es-Semara with 257 companies, reports MAP.
By sector of activity, commerce takes a 42.35% share, followed by miscellaneous services (13.69%), transport (13.60%), building and public works (BTP) and real estate activities (11.95%), industries (9.82%), hotels and restaurants (3.93%), agriculture and fishing (2.74%), information and communication technologies sector (1.59%) and financial activities (0.34%).
By legal form, 72% of companies created are limited liability companies with a single shareholder (SARL-AU), followed by SARL (27.7%), public limited companies (0.2%), general partnerships ( SNC) and other companies, with a share of 0.1%.
For the month of October alone, 382 new companies were created in the region, including 183 legal entities and 199 natural persons, adds the same source.
At the national level, OMPIC indicated that 78,313 companies were created during the first ten months of 2023, including 53,727 entities by legal entities and 24,586 companies by natural persons.
By region, Casablanca-Settat recorded the largest share of new business creations with 22,621 new businesses, ahead of Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (11,447), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (9,268), Marrakech-Safi (8,001) , Fez-Meknes (5,562), Souss-Massa (4,960), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (3,942), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (2,537), Drâa-Tafilalet (2,356), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (1,906) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (702).
