A fierce argument over the theft of an animal ended with a man killed by a shotgun in Santa Rosa, La Pampa. The attack occurred in full view of the victim’s own relatives.
According to local media, the person accused of the shooting, identified as David Giménez (45), reproached his neighbor, Marcelo Orieta (30), for having entered his property to steal one of his pigs.
The conflict took place on Monday, following noon, when Orieta was herding his animals towards the corral on his land. The victim’s sister witnessed the tense confrontation between the two breeders and gave details of the horror.
According to his version, Giménez reproached him that one of his pigs had approached Orieta’s house, from where He returned without the chain he had around his neck.
The discussion, in which they exchanged accusations regarding missing animals and revived old resentments, reached its climax when Giménez pulled out a 16-gauge shotgun. Suddenly, the man took aim and shot his neighbor in the chest. The attacker fled the scene with the murder weapon.
The victim’s sister requested immediate help through 911. Police and doctors arrived several minutes later at the crime scene. However, paramedics confirmed that Orieta he was already dead.
The officers of the Community Police Station No. 10, under the orders of prosecutor Luciana Jacobo, carried out a lock operation. Thus, The authorities managed to arrest David Giménez in his home, located near the scene of the incident.
The experts seized the shotgun used in the homicide and also seized the clothing that the accused was wearing, with alleged blood stains.
