Sharjah Customs Thwarts Illegal Entry Attempt: Latest News and Updates

The Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority announced that it thwarted an attempt to smuggle two intruders into the country illegally through one of the customs ports affiliated with Sharjah Customs, during an inspection of two vehicles using the latest radiological detection devices for vehicle inspection, which detected the presence of suspicious objects in the two vehicles.

The authority explained that as a result of the proactive follow-up and constant vigilance of the inspection officers, who conducted audits and reviews of the data issued by the vehicle radiological scanning devices, two intruders were caught hiding in a professionally installed iron box under the rear trunk of the two vehicles, and they did not carry any identification papers, so the intruders were transferred. The drivers of the two vehicles were referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures.

Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Raisi, Director of Ports and Border Points Affairs at the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, confirmed that infiltration operations constitute one of the most dangerous operations that have negative effects on the security of society, especially in light of the great economic and development progress that the state is enjoying, which makes it a target for a segment that does not ignore it. State agencies and laws are out of use, and the process of arresting intruders comes as a true embodiment of the pioneering efforts made by the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, to ensure the security and safety of society, and in light of the interest it attaches to the customs sector, and its keenness to provide customs centers with expertise and skills, through specialized training programs, Which aims to improve work and develop the competencies of inspection officers, in addition to providing them with the latest advanced technology and radiation scanning techniques, which contributes to controlling many violations affecting goods and individuals.

Al-Raisi pointed out that Sharjah Customs possesses an advanced customs system capable of thwarting smuggling attempts in all their forms through all the emirate’s customs ports, and in accordance with the latest global practices in this regard, as well as confronting any individuals or criminal networks who seek to harm themselves. For the security of the homeland and the citizen, praising the efforts of Sharjah Customs officers, for their efficiency and constant vigilance in professionally confronting smuggling attempts of all kinds, in different ways, in various circumstances, in order to maintain the security and safety of society.
