UAE’s Participation in Moon Space Station Project: Details and Future Plans

Dubai: UAE to participate in the project to build a space station on the moon. An agreement was signed between the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center and NASA in this regard.

A 10-tonne crew and science airlock will be constructed. The gateway is reportedly slated to launch by 2030.

UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said that participation in international projects will contribute to the comprehensive development of the country. The UAE also announced plans to send the first Emirati traveler to the moon within the next 10 years.

Along with the construction of the airlock (entry gate), scientists at the Mohammad Bin Rashid Space Center will provide technical assistance to sustain life on the space station.

The UAE is participating in the project to establish a space station on the moon along with the United States, Japan, Canada and the European Union. A special center to train astronauts and a ground station to control the lunar mission will soon be established in the UAE.
