This Monday around 1 p.m., for an undetermined reason, a RESA divisional cabin (the intercommunal power distribution company) exploded. This main cabin which is located in the Hoyoux valley, rue Régissa, actually supplies seventy electric cabins which serve the streets of Huy, Marchin and Modave, mainly in the surroundings of the Hoyoux valley.
“We were able to quickly restore power immediately, explains Lætitia Naklicki, communications manager at RESA. An hour later, power had returned to nearly 98% of homes. But there are two cabins that remain out of service for longer. That of Hoyoux which supplies rue Régissa in the valley, towards Huy and rue Régissa, towards Marchin. There, we have to dig to recover the cables and reconnect them to a generator.” An emergency job which should be completed during the evening.
“For the other cabin, the one located on rue Vieux-Barse, we had to wait for the arrival of a generator,” continues the spokesperson.
The intermunicipal electricity distribution company will have to investigate in the coming days to see the damage inside the main cabin and understand the cause of the explosion.
