Moroccan artist Dounia Batma revealed that she was subjected to an attempted murder and an attempt to liquidate her to keep her away from the artistic scene.
In a live broadcast on her Instagram account, Batma appeared to her followers, days following her one-year prison sentence was upheld in the case known in the media as “Hamza Moon Bibi,” confirming that she had been subjected to an attempted murder on the public road in one of the cities of Morocco and that she was still receiving threats to liquidate her. The Court of Cassation in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, issued its ruling rejecting the appeal submitted by Moroccan artist Dounia Batma in the famous case known as “Hamza Moon Baby,” and upholding her imprisonment for a year.
The case was transferred to the Marrakesh Court of Appeal, which issued an additional ruling imprisoning Dounia Batma for 4 months, in addition to 8 months imprisonment, in implementation of the decision of the Court of First Instance that was issued in 2020, bringing the total to a full year, following her relationship with the “Hamza Moon Baby” account was proven.
For her part, Dounia Batma decided to cancel her concert, which was scheduled to be held on New Year’s Eve in a Tangier hotel, for fear of being arrested.
In the same case, the court ruled to uphold the imprisonment of Ibtisam Batma, Dounia’s sister, for a year and a year and a half for fashion designer Aisha Ayyash.
It is noteworthy that Dounia Batma was arrested at the end of last December for her involvement with her sister, Ibtisam, in having a scandalous account for celebrities called “Hamza Moon Baby” on Snap chat, through which he targeted Moroccan female artists, “exposing the suspicious practices and relationships of some of them with Gulf men,” and she was subsequently released. The case of the “Hamza Moon Baby” account has been ongoing in Moroccan courts for some time, following it was proven that he blackmailed a number of stars.
The scandalous account targeted many victims, individuals and the public, as it attacked a number of Moroccan celebrities, including Raja and Omar Belmir, Ahmed Shawky, Nora Fathi, Ibtissam Tsakat, Tahira, Saeeda Sharaf, and the controversial doctor Doc Samad. And let us not forget, he also targeted judges, club owners, and businessmen for the purpose of blackmailing them.
