HAS your marks… Ready? Sale! The winter sales begin on Wednesday January 10 at 8 a.m., in most departments of mainland France, as well as in Martinique, Guyana and Mayotte. The government has set the end of the sales for Tuesday February 6. If physical stores are preparing for four weeks under the sign of promotions, these also apply to sales made remotely and on the Internet, as specified the service-public.fr website.
The dates of the sales are never chosen at random: this year, the second Wednesday of January falling following the 12th, the start was brought forward to the first Wednesday, as provided for in the decree of May 27, 2019, also setting the duration of the periods sales, recalls the website of the Ministry of the Economy. However, they started a little earlier in some departments: from January 2 in Meurthe-et-Moselle, Moselle, Meuse and Vosges, until January 29 inclusive.

The sales dates also differ in certain overseas departments: in Guadeloupe, they run from January 6 to February 2, in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon from January 17 to February 13, in Saint-Barthélemy and in Saint-Martin from May 4 to May 31.
