DENVER (AP) — Jamal Murray scored a season-high 37 points, Nikola Jokic finished with 16 assists and the Denver Nuggets handed the Detroit Pistons their 18th straight road loss by beating them 131-114 Sunday night.
Murray bounced back following a poor shooting game once morest Orlando on Friday, with a strong performance, making 14 of 24 shots from the floor. Additionally, he was 6 of 7 from the free throw line.
Jokic was more of a spreader and blocker than a scorer this time, taking only three shots and finishing with four points. The two-time NBA MVP tied his career-high with five blocks, setting up his teammates to easily make baskets around the rim. He had the opportunity to reach his maximum number of 18 assists, but did not play in the fourth quarter with the game already resolved.
The Pistons fell to 1-19 on the road, with their only victory coming in Charlotte on October 27.
Jalen Duren led Detroit with 20 points, while Alec Burks added 18. Cade Cunningham had three points before leaving midway through the second quarter with a left knee injury.
