Bayern, however, does not intend to give him away for a low amount and will expect around £50 million for his transfer in the winter. Although Guardiola is very interested in signing Kimmich, Manchester City does not want to spend that much money. Therefore, the club intends to postpone the transaction until the summer, when the amount expected by Bayern should be lower – according to the Daily Star, Manchester City would save up to £25 million on such a move. Everything will be helped by the fact that the player is aware of this interest and is willing to cooperate with Guardiola once more – thus he might block a transfer to another club.
And there is no shortage of people willing to make this move. The teams interested in signing Kimmich include City’s local rival – Manchester United – and Juergen Klopp’s Liverpool. However, both clubs should “be aware that in this race they are behind the English champions, because the eight-time German champion would like to go to the Etihad,” we read in the newspaper.
Joshua Kimmich remains Bayern Munich’s main midfielder this season. He appeared in 20 games, scoring one goal and making six assists. He only missed four games – two due to a red card suspension and two due to illness.
