57-year-old drives through emergency lane and hits 14-year-old and 2 cars

A 57-year-old hit a teenager on Sunday morning in an emergency lane on the Salzburg Tauern Autobahn (A10) that was open due to traffic jams. The Bosnian car driver had driven through the lane that had been formed for emergency vehicles to arrive, when he hit a 14-year-old German who had gotten out of a stationary car. While swerving, the Bosnian crashed into two other stationary cars.

The 14-year-old was taken to hospital by helicopter following receiving first aid. The impact caused one of the two cars hit by the Bosnian to hit the rear of another stationary car, resulting in a total of four vehicles being involved in the accident. In addition to the teenager who was hit, five other people had to be taken to hospital with injuries of an unspecified degree. The road was completely closed for an hour, and none of the drivers involved returned a positive result from the breathalyzer test.
