A famous wait. It took 120 years to know the value of the heritage of the Royal Donation. As La Libre Belgique wrote this Saturday, it is valued at 231 million euros. Until now, there had never been an estimate of the value of this heritage.

The royal donation comes straight from Leopold II. The King, then at the end of his life, decided to cede real estate and land to the Belgian State.

Among all these properties, we find the castles of Belvédère (the current residence of King Albert II and Queen Paola), Stuyvenberg, Val Duchesse (famous place for federal negotiations). But also several dozen houses and offices across the country, farms and even a rest home in Ostend.
