The last riders are still swinging down through the forest of poles; they are unlikely to turn the rankings upside down. That’s why we’re logging off for our lunch break. We wish you good luck and hope that you will follow the decision in the Adelboden slalom with us once more.

The live ticker on this channel starts at 1:15 p.m.

The Norwegians put their stamp on this first run from Adelboden. Alexander Steen Olsen leads ahead of Atle Lie McGrath. Surprisingly, third is the Italian Tommaso Sala.

The Swiss performance can be classified between decent and inadequate. Marc Rochat was really good for his standards in ninth place. Ramon Zenhäuser (8th) can still at least have slight hopes of a podium place, 0.65 seconds behind the leader.

Daniel Yule (11th), Luca Aerni (15th), Tanguy Nef (19th) and Loïc Meillard (21st) will also be represented in the second race. The man from Neuchâtel in particular is experiencing a setback following his failure in the giant slalom. This time the tie holds, but he – the greatest Swiss hope in the slalom – continually loses time, in the end it is 1.77 seconds to leader Steen Olsen.

The man from Zug is already 24, but today he is racing in his first World Cup race. The premiere should have taken place in Val-d’Isère a month ago, but the slalom in Savoy had to be canceled due to precarious piste conditions. Iten, whose parents are trainers in a ski club, used to suffer from back problems for a long time. Now he’s feeling better – and yet he’s eliminated shortly before the finish. That was it for the Swiss in the first run.

11:34 am

The 25-year-old Frenchman, son of former Slalom World Cup winner Sébastien Amiez, shows that fast times are still possible. He is in 18th place.

11:32 a.m

The Bernese is not dissatisfied with his first run. «I thought I had lost more time at the top, but the last section was good. But I can do even better and hope that I can turn it up in the second run,” he says in the SRF interview.

11:28 a.m

The seventh of eight Swiss is now traveling to Adelboden. But he doesn’t reach the goal. On a steep slope, he first has to put the skis sideways before he threads them in.

11:25 a.m

Only two slaloms have been held so far, and there are still ten races on the program until the end of the season. Things are finally getting serious for the pole acrobats, and if you’re not ready now, you can take off the classics: Adelboden, Wengen, Kitzbühel, Schladming – climax following climax will follow in the next two and a half weeks.

11:25 a.m

The man from Geneva can boast ranks 20 and 19 this season. He is in 18th place, 1.75 seconds behind. It’s a decent performance.

The leader from Norway says: “It’s the first time that I’m in the lead following a first run – it’s a pretty funny experience. I feel really good, like I have everything under control.”

11:22 a.m

70 drivers are registered – from 23 nations. There are also representatives from the “ski strongholds” of Argentina, Estonia and Poland.

11:21 a.m

The Swiss performance on the Chuenisbärgli is mixed in this first run: Ramon Zenhäuser (8th) and Marc Rochat (9th) drive well, Daniel Yule’s (11th) performance can still be described as sufficient. More is expected from the Valais.

But the interim results for the Swiss are a bit disappointing. And that is not least due to Loïc Meillard – the best hope for a podium finish. He doesn’t get up to speed, continually loses time and is 1.77 behind in 18th place.

With Luca Aerni from Bern, a “local” will also compete in the decision; he loses 1.17 seconds to the top.

11:18 a.m

The Vaudois (9th place) says: “It was a difficult run, but the conditions were fine. I’m happy because I drove smart. I haven’t quite risked everything yet, but many others have made mistakes on the steep slope.”

11:16 a.m

The Belgian is holding his own in the top 30 in the world rankings. In Adelboden he had a terrible fall seven years ago, his left knee was torn, meniscus, ligaments, kneecap, nothing was whole anymore, the head of his tibia broke into 13 pieces. He asked: “Can I race once more?” The doctor replied: “The career is over.” He was wrong. But Marchant has to worry, as he is currently 24th, he might miss the second race.

11:15 a.m

The piste itself is still holding up, as can be seen in the good times in sections. But Tobias Kastlunger cannot capitalize on this – the Italian loses over two seconds.

11:14 a.m

Two years ago he was at the top here and hardly anyone had him on their radar. Because Strolz had previously lost his squad status, he was really in crisis.

A victory, even a podium finish today would be an even bigger sensation than two years ago. Strolz, who is now trying his hand at speed driving, hasn’t gotten up to speed yet. At least he made some progress recently in Madonna di Campiglio (16th).

In this first run he lost 1.76 seconds to the lead.

11:13 a.m

His father Ken, who won the Lauberhorn downhill in 1980, was a member of the Crazy Canucks. There’s nothing crazy regarding son Erik; in fact, he drives in a very controlled manner. Too controlled – he loses two seconds and takes 21st place.

11:11 a.m

He knows what winning feels like in Adelboden. In 2015, the Italian won in Adelboden ahead of Fritz Dopfer and Marcel Hirscher. But the golden days seem to be behind the 37-year-old. In Madonna di Campiglio he was eliminated in the second run and in Gurgl he was disqualified.

11:10 a.m

What a great performance from the Croatian! He attacks, but hardly makes any mistakes. He is only half a second behind in 6th place, at the same time as Henrik Kristoffersen, who, however, had significantly better slope conditions.

11:09 a.m

The local hero is on the way. Luca Aerni said on Friday that he felt better than he had in a long time. The back doesn’t hurt, the material fits. This is also reflected in the results: He recently finished 13th with his best running time in the second round of Madonna di Campiglio.

In Adelboden he managed a solid first run with a difference of 1.17 seconds.

11:09 a.m

The German veteran, who has never been in the top 10, loses just under a second and comes in 11th.
