Two Norwegians topped the rankings in the first round of the men’s Ski World Cup slalom in Adelboden. On Sunday, Alexander Steen Olsen was five hundredths of a second faster than compatriot Atle Lie McGrath, who had already been second on the Chuenisbärgli last year. As the best ÖSV representative, Manuel Feller is in fifth place, a moderate 0.45 seconds behind. Michael Matt (10th) made a mistake by 0.80 seconds.
The other Austrians also didn’t perform flawlessly and didn’t make it into the top 15. Dominik Raschner is 1.18 behind, Johannes Strolz 1.76 and Adrian Pertl +1.85. Fabio Gstrein missed qualifying for the final following a serious mishap on the finish slope. The Carinthian Marco Schwarz, who would have started with the red jersey of the discipline leader in Adelboden, is known to be out for the rest of the season due to a serious knee injury.
