Sandeep Reddy Vanka is a director who is noted for his films like Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh and Animal, both in South India and Bollywood. All three films were critically acclaimed but hugely successful. Kabir Singh is the Hindi version of Arjun Reddy starring Vijay Devarakonda in the lead role. Vijay Devarakonda was not the first person considered for Arjun Reddy. This was revealed in a recent interview given by director Sandeep Reddy. Sandeep said that Allu Arjun was on his mind but he did not get a chance to meet him.
In 2011, Allu had told a story to Arjun. But that movie didn’t happen. Later Allu wanted to approach Arjun for Arjun Reddy but might not meet him. Vijay was introduced by a friend. Two weeks later we started shooting. I wanted my first film to be with Allu Arjun’ – said Sandeep Reddy
The director also revealed the circumstances behind making Arjun Reddy. ‘I went to many producers with the script of this film. But nothing was right. Finally I decided to make this film myself’.
Animal hit the theaters on December 1. Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Bobby Deol played the lead roles in the film. The film, made on a budget of 100 crores, has collected around 900 crores from the global level.
