Manchester (UK): The school in Manchester was closed until Monday following the fire. A fire broke out in a classroom at Dean Trust School in Ardwick, Manchester on Thursday night. The school will remain closed until Monday. Firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire.
Although the fire contained only one classroom, extensive smoke and water damage caused minor damage to the school and surrounding area. However, the school authorities are making desperate efforts to open the school for the children as early as next week.
Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Services led the firefighting effort with eight fire engines. Roads in the surrounding area which were closed have been opened.
