Mercedes-Benz Argentina announced the departure of the production line of the 400,000th unit of the Sprinter in December 2023. It is a white 20+1 combi. The manufacturing of the Sprinter in the country began in 1996 when the Juan Manuel Fangio Industrial Center was reconditioned, specializing it in the production of utility vehicles.
The achievement of producing 400,0000 units of the Sprinter in the country is a cause for celebration for the company and a reaffirmation of its uninterrupted commitment to the national industry. Last September, Mercedes-Benz Argentina celebrated 72 years of presence in the countryhaving been the brand’s first industrial plant installed outside of Germany.
The current model of the Sprinter (the third generation) was launched on the market in 2019 and has more equipment and comfort, greater versatility, a new dimension in safety and renewed interior and exterior design.
With 27 years of experience, the Sprinter is the local product that offers the largest number of versions between combi, chassis and van; Furthermore, it is the only one of its kind manufactured in Argentina. Today it is exported to countries in the region and the United States.
Mercedes-Benz Argentina employs around 2,000 people in the countryhas a large Commercial Network made up of Dealers and Authorized Workshops specialized in service, sales and following-sales.
During the departure of the line of the unit 400,000 were present Manuel Mantilla (President and CEO), Peter Gierse (Manufacturing Director), accompanied by Directors, Managers, employees of the company.
