An announcement which did not fail to cause surprise. Marc Ysaye, the former director of Classic 21 and drummer of the rock group Machiavelli, will be a candidate in the general elections in June and local elections in October for the MR.
Following this announcement, embarrassing tweets from the new Liberal recruit resurfaced. Between 2019 and 2020 Marc Ysaye “liked” several posts from French far-right political figures: Jean Messiah, the president of the RN, Jordan Bardella or even the identity activist Damien Rieu, member of Eric Zemmour’s Reconquête party.
Nearby Eveningthe rocker defends himself: “It was years ago, and it was a mistake”.
However, on November 7, 2023, Marc Ysaye reiterates and likes a publication by Marion Maréchal: a video extracted from a Cnews program during which the Reconquête candidate for the European elections defends her grandfather, Jean-Marie Le Pen for being anti-Semitic. “If we had listened to Jean-Marie Le Pen on immigration and Islamization 40 years ago, there would certainly be less anti-Semitism today,” she declares.
