4 injured after firecracker explosion at Ebenseer Glöcklerlauf

According to police, a 66-year-old man lit three cast iron firecrackers on Friday followingnoon to mark the start of the race in the Rindbach district. To do this, he placed the firecrackers in a field at a safe distance right next to the stream bed of the Rindbach.

While the first two fireworks were ignited as usual, the last one exploded and injured a total of four spectators due to the metal parts flying around. The people were around 50 to 100 meters away from the firecrackers. Three spectators were taken by rescue to hospitals in Bad Ischl, Gmunden and Vöcklabruck with injuries of an undetermined degree.
