Tomorrow Belongs to Us: Summary of the episode of January 9, 2024
Lilou’s pen
In class, Violette sits next to Lilou who is desperately looking for her silver fountain pen with a gold border. She left her bag unattended for just a few minutes and her pen disappeared. This pen was a gift from his grandfather and has great sentimental value. After class, Violette meets Jordan and Jack. She tells them regarding Lilou’s misadventure. Jordan immediately suspects Liam of having stolen it. Jack thinks that she might have simply lost him.
Liam has been summoned to the principal because of the disappearance of this precious pen and he then confronts his classmate. Lilou explains that she did not accuse anyone. At her father’s request, she just reported it stolen. Lilou then swears to Liam that she would not have done anything if she had known that he was going to be accused. She then admits that everything is her fault and that she should never have taken that pen to school. Lilou would like to be forgiven and suggests going to see the principal to tell her that it wasn’t him who took it. Liam softens. He tells her to let it go and then reassures Lilou, he doesn’t blame her. Once alone, Lilou takes out her precious pen from her handbag and wears a mischievous smile.
Charlie is devastated
Soizic arrives in a very good mood at the hospital. She learned from Adam that François is no longer going to Canada because he separated from Charlie. Soizic takes William and Noor into his confidence. Noor asks him if they are likely to get back together. Soizic is certain not, especially since Charlie made François believe she was pregnant to test his reaction.
Not far from there, at Charlie’s request, Sylvain goes to François’ house to pick up the young woman’s belongings. François checks in on Charlie because she doesn’t respond to his messages. Sylvain makes her understand that she is devastated. François is sorry. He didn’t want their relationship to end like this. Sylvain doesn’t hide the fact that he is delighted that this story is over. He has nothing once morest him, but he thinks that Charlie will be happier with someone his age if only to look forward to the future.
At the hospital, Christelle confronts Soizic who does not mask his joy regarding the separation of François and Charlie.
For her part, Charlie is devastated and doesn’t have the strength to do anything. When Christelle returns from the hospital, she is taken care of. She thinks that this breakup was perhaps a blessing in disguise. In her eyes, Charlie was with a man who didn’t deserve her and it was better to realize that before leaving for Canada. She then encourages Charlie to think regarding positive things. At the same time, Charlie receives a visit from Nathan. He tries to cheer her up.
Did Etienne kill Langlois?
Alexis Langlois was killed. According to the medical examiner, he died between 24 and 36 hours before his body was discovered on the beach. Examinations show that he was hit violently in the head with a blunt object.
The Curtis family receives a visit from Manon who comes to tell them that Langlois has been killed. Dorian believes he got what he deserved. Bénédicte is relieved to know that Langlois will no longer be able to do any harm.
At the police station, Roxane tries to reconstruct Langlois’ schedule before his death. She analyzes the prepaid SIM card found on him. Sara hopes she can find something, because they have no leads. For the young woman, Langlois’ death was a heinous crime since they found neither money nor jewelry on him.
At the wine estate, Victor can only rejoice at the death of Langlois. Timothy for his part would have preferred that he be arrested and that a judge punish him for what he did. Victor points out that everything that happened is proof of police incompetence. Timothée does not share his opinion. He emphasizes that the police do the best they can with the means they have. Whatever happens, Timothée wants to continue being part of the scientific and technical police. He thinks he can make a difference.
Not far from there, at the police station, Georges informed Martin that he wanted to recruit Timothée and he asked him if he had been able to think regarding his proposal. Martin emphasizes that he is the head of the PTS and that he will respect his decision. But he is wary. Georges assures Martin that Timothée has nothing to do with his father. And then, he went through all the CVs and Timothée is clearly above the rest. Georges recognizes that his integration is not going to be easy, but he is certain that having him in their services would be a real asset.
At the Spoon, Bénédicte explains to Etienne that she hasn’t been able to sleep with everything that has happened. She then tells him that she doesn’t think she can stay in Sète. She needs to leave, to go back to sea to turn the page.
At the police station, by tracing Langlois’ cell phone, Roxane managed to reconstruct his last day. In the morning it was next to the commercial port. Martin deduces that he tried to board the freighter until he caught the mousetrap and changed his mind. At the beginning of the followingnoon, he was in the Levis Bridge area and at 5:40 p.m., he was in the marina area, where the Curtis sailboat is located. Then, Roxane loses track of him.
In the evening, Damien receives the complete report from the forensic doctor. Langlois has bite marks typical of fish found only offshore. The one who killed him threw his body into the open sea. Not far from there, Etienne bricks his sailboat and tries to remove a huge blood stain embedded in the carpet. Did Etienne kill his former friend or is he protecting Bénédicte?
