The authorities have still not found the divers missing since Thursday evening at Lac de la Plate Taille, on the Lacs de l’Eau d’Heure site. Operations are therefore suspended. But objects of diving equipment belonging to two different people were discovered this Friday in the waters of the L’Eau d’Heure Lakes during the searches carried out to find the two Liège divers, the Charleroi prosecutor’s office said this Friday evening. . The excavations will resume on Saturday.

The two divers, from Liège, arrived on site yesterday, around 5 p.m. It was their families who raised the alarm around 1:30 a.m., worrying regarding not seeing them return.

The divers sought are not part of the local Lacs de l’Eau d’Heure club. No activity was organized as the club was closed. In principle, diving is prohibited at night. The Charleroi public prosecutor’s office confirms that these are experienced divers.

Firefighters from the Dinaphi zone (Dinant-Philippeville) and the Hainaut-Est Rescue zone were mobilized during the night. Given the difficult conditions, they decided not to dive and instead tour the lake by boat, to inspect the 17 kilometers of banks. These surface searches were unsuccessful.
