The start of the new year brought more work than expected for the new Stripfing sports director Alexander Grünwald. On Tuesday, Bundesliga club Austria Vienna presented the previous SVS coach Christian Wegleitner as their new assistant coach. This was announced over the Christmas holidays, but overall Wegleitner’s promotion was not apparent at this point in time, said Grünwald.

So the 34-year-old, former Austria captain was immediately faced with the task of finding a new coach. On Friday morning he was able to put a green tick under the search, Stripfing presented his new man. As with Wegleitner, it is also a promotion for him; the choice fell on Maximilian Uhlig, who had coached the Young Violets, Austria’s second team, in the Regionalliga East since the summer. Grünwald explains why: “Christian’s departure came as a surprise. We then thought regarding it and said we might well imagine it with Max. I think that’s the best solution because, despite his young age, he already has a lot of experience and already knows all the players because he coached many of them in his youth.”

Sattler will remain on the coaching team

Before his involvement with the Young Violets, 30-year-old Uhlig worked for the Violets’ U16 and U18 teams, and the Admira Jugend is also on the Viennese’s business card. By the way, he will be bringing his previous assistant coach Florian Hart with him to SV Stripfing; the 33-year-old has a Bundesliga past as a player with Mattersburg, Ried, Grödig and LASK. His coaching career began with the U15 of ESV Haidbrunn Wacker Wiener Neustadt before he moved to Admira and later to Austria. Hart was allowed to wear the jersey of the Austrian youth national teams 26 times.

The previous Stripfing assistant coach Florian Sattler will remain on the coaching team and continue to hold his position. The starting signal for preparation takes place on Monday, the first test takes place on Friday – once morest Uhlig’s previous team, the Young Violets.

With him we were able to win one of the most sought-following coaches of the young coaching generation for SV Stripfing. In addition to being a very committed coach, Florian Hart also brings a lot of experience as an active player, this mix is perfect for us.
