A look into the Kastl: “The Dead of Salzburg” are more alive than ever

Instead of him, the Salzburg police department is now in female hands: As head of the police department, colleague Russmeyer (Fanny Krausz) has to deal with – not only – a poisoning murder. And with her Bavarian colleague Mur. This adds a misogynistic facet to the bilateral saber rattling.

The case itself leads into two abysses, that of love and that of corruption in high offices. Everyone would like to embrace the energy transition – and are not afraid of biogas label fraud: the Bavarian energy minister wraps himself in megalomania in the mantle of Ludwig II, while his Salzburg colleague drowns her fear of “anti-capitalist biogas haters” to a high degree.

The macho Mur (Michael Fitz) is rehabilitated by opera tickets for his wedding anniversary, even if he falls asleep gently while enjoying art.

Loving details, wit and their playful actors once once more make up the charm of the “Dead of Salzburg”. There is nothing to add to the praise of the new head of the police department (Fanny Krausz) from Mr. Hofrat (Erwin Steinhauer), who is progressively swiping on his cell phone: “Good job!”
