“Tetris” is not just a video game, but much more than that. Since its release in 1989 on the NES, it became world famous five years earlier, especially through the Gameboy. Suddenly people were playing “Tetris” who wouldn’t describe themselves as classic gamers and yet were spending hours upon hours playing the puzzle game. So a scene was repeated over and over once more on millions of screens – the game is still one of the best-selling video games of all time – which many readers of these lines will certainly remember: At some point you block yourself, the blocks keep piling up, and As soon as one of the Kasterl reached the top of the screen, it suddenly said: Game over.
