American rock group Rage Against the Machine has disbanded for a third time.

The band’s drummer and founding member, Brad Wilk, made the announcement in a post on his Instagram page in response to rumors that the band was planning a tour.

“I want to let you know that RATM (Tim, Zach, Tom and myself) will no longer be touring or performing,” he wrote. I’m sorry to those who waited for [qu’une tournée] happen. I really wish it was true.”

“From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years,” he adds.

First formed in the early 1990s, the group enjoyed great success with their songs Killing in the Name (1992), Bulls On Parade (1996) and Renegades of Fun (2000), among others.

Rage Against the Machine was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2023.

This is the third time the group has announced their separation.

The group first broke up in 2000, then revived in 2007, before the members left the group in 2011 and finally announced a reunion tour in 2020.
